Sailing in and around Puget Sound and planning to sail further

Opening Day Tomorrow (3 May)

I had to go to Kirkland yesterday to sign some paper and on my way back across 520 (how do people do that commute?) I noticed folks were already lining up on the log boom along the Montlake cut in preparation for the Windermere Cup and all the other Opening Day festivities.

I have had the luck to attend once and it is a nice day on the water especially if you have a tasty beverage and some good friends. Although this year it looks like its going to be a little wet as they're forecasting a 60% chance of rain on Saturday.

If you had any plans to move your boat through the cut on Saturday I would completely abandon those plans. Also, the Montlake exits to/from 520 10a-4pm on 3 May.
