Sailing in and around Puget Sound and planning to sail further

10 Feb - Fishermen's Terminal Construction Update

This weeks update from the port on Fisherman's Terminal.

The Contractor has turned over new Dock 6 to the Port of Seattle.  They continue working on small miscellaneous items.  The new knuckle-boom crane will be installed as soon as the weather allows for grout placement.
Pile driving continues for new Dock 5 fixed pier using the vibratory hammer.  Selected "proof piles" will be driven for the last 5-feet with the impact hammer.  Data obtained from the "proof piles" will determine the bearing capacity of the piles.

The welding crew is following behind the pile driving operation, welding structural rebar into the steel piles.  When a sufficient number of piles are welded, the crew will start installing falsework/formwork for the new concrete pile caps.
Select demolition continues on old Dock 6.

The dive crew is scheduled to arrive on-site to perform a pre-demolition survey of the existing debris.
