Sailing in and around Puget Sound and planning to sail further

US Sailing Certifications

http://sailingcourse.com/ covers many of the same topics as their class room training and has much better illustration and pictures than their books. As example checkout this page on Engine Systems. They also have a great emphasis on having more pictures of actual objects as opposed to just drawings as on the Basic Navigation section of the the keel boat course.

Overall, I think the information and the site design is great. The flow of the site is grouped in relation to their standard US Sailing certifications (Keel boat, Cruising, etc.) which I find a bit arbitrary. I think it would make more sense to group boat type information (small boats with outboards, larger keel boats with inboards) together but to have a dedicated Navigation, and anchoring section independent of the boat size. All in all its a great site with awesome photos and calculators.
