Sailing in and around Puget Sound and planning to sail further

I'm Legit !

I passed my Coastal Nav test on Saturday (12 Feb). Which was a big milestone for me personally. I never found the concepts in Coastal Nav hard, but that damn test was mocking me!! I really wish they had regional tests where the content was based on the area you lived in. Oh well….

I’ve now passed the following US Sailing Classes:

  • Basic Keelboat
  • Basic Cruising
  • Coastal Navigation
  • Bareboat Cruising

Anyway beyond the pure achievement of the thing this now makes me eligible to do overnight charters with Windworks Sailing the charter company I sail through and took my US Sailing certifications.

First thing I did right there was book a boat for 4th of July weekend. I need a few weekends to fix up some things around the house here in February and then I plan on getting out at least once a month.

hi Peaboy,
Congratualtions, I only manage to finish basic keel before I went out. How was the CelNav course? I was hopping to do that one day.
Keep up with your blog!

I have not taken Celestial Nav yet, but it is something I would like to do, maybe towards the end of summer or in the fall. Right now, I just want to get out on the water and put some miles under the keel.
